Greetings MOMs, Happy Ash Wednesday, Lent and Valentine's Day!
Thanks to all who attended our February meeting. Our discussion was lively and insightful.
In our book discussion on From a Mother's Heart, we looked at transforming the "ordinary": into the "extraordinary."
Changing diapers, feeding babies, doing laundry, driving car pools, attending our kids' sporting events...no longer whould
we view these as "ordinary" or mundane activities, but are performing the most important, extraordinary job in the world
-- forming lives for Jesus Christ! Through our children, we have been given the privilege of being co-creators
with our God. It is truly an amazing gift. The challenge, however, is to transform our home first -- it is
easy to forget that our home is the place of our "mission work." Every time we show love, patience, kindness,
joy, honesty, forgiveness and laughter in our homes, we are raising extraordinary, holy and vibrant families.
In our video series from Kathleen Chesto, we also looked at Family Spirituality. Chesto
encouraged us to see that we are not just raising our children as good Christian people, put rather our children
are raising us as wonderful Christian women and mothers. Through us, our children experience God's love
-- every day and in many ways. However, if we listen and look closely -- and are open to grace-filled moments
-- our children's words and activities give us insight about life and God as well.
MOMs are encouraged to enter the "chat room" ,using the link below, to share ideas, provide feedback from each
meeting or ask parenting questions.
At our March meeting, we ask each MOM to bring one babysitter contact in order to complile a master "MOMS Babysitting
List," as well as one or two good book reads, either adult or children to share among us.
