This ministry serves the needs of the people through a combination of outreach programs and working towards social justice.

**NEW** Social Justice - a group of faithful Catholics answered the call to Faithful Citizenship by meeting with Congressman Scott Garrett on March 31, 2008.

See details.

Homeless Shelter Program - a program which provides meals and shelter here at Our Lady of Perpetual Help for up to 10 homeless men and women from Bergen County for one night/week, usually during the summer months.

Ministry to the Homebound - volunteers call and/or visit our homebound parishioners on a regular basis.

Hospital Ministry - Eucharistic Ministers are part of a team at Valley Hospital which brings the Eucharist to Catholic patients one day each week.

Bereavement Ministry - A monthly support group is offered as well as two 6-week sessions twice each year. Individuals trained to be facilitators by the Archdiocese of Newark lead all groups.

Oakland Care Center Ministry - The Rosary is said with the residents of the Oakland Care Center on the second Tuesday of each month, and Mass is celebrated by Fr. Lipnicki on the fourth Tuesday each month. Volunteers assist with these two activities.

Friendly Neighbors - volunteers take phone calls from parishioners on Monday and Tuesday evenings in the Parish Center, and then coordinate additional volunteers to provide transportation to physician's offices, hospitals, etc. as needed.

Martha Ministry - volunteers provide meals for parishioners who have just been released from a hospital or are undergoing medical treatments that interfere with their ability to cook for their families for a limited period of time.

Career Connections Ministry - provides a supportive, inspiring and faith-filled environment for people in all phases of their careers, to share information, build self-awareness, and grow skills.  All are welcomed to participate:  from those of you just about to graduate, to those returning to the workforce, and to the more seasoned veterans, as well as employers.
